Maureen FitzSimons's early accomplishments in the performing arts, that are now known as Maureen O'Hara, would certainly have qualified her to be in her place in the "child prodigy" category. For a child with Irish origins, who was surrounded she was by gifted parents, and her family, this came naturally. Maureen entered this loving haven located in Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th, 1920. Marguerita Lu. FitzSimons made a name for herself with her contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based firm and also owned a stake of "The Shamrock Rovers" famous Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons was the daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this lovely family. Maureen loved playing rough sports when she was a kid and was very proficient at it. The passion for sports was matched by the natural ability to perform. She was awarded nearly every Feis Award for Theater and Drama the country could offer. As she reached the age of 14 the Abbey Theater accepted her and permitted her to pursue her passion for classical theatre and opera singing.
