Maureen Denise McCormick, the only daughter of Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father worked as an elementary school teacher, and her mother as an at-home mom. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three older brothers. McCormick began dancing and singing at an early age and would often perform show-like puppets in front of the children from her neighborhood. McCormick won her first contest, the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest when she was just 6 years old and was contacted by Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He asked her if she wanted to work in the show business. McCormick got her first job as an actress major in the year 1964. She starred in an advertisement for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. A year later, she starred for the firm's Chatty Cathy Doll and was immediately selected for the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp and ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the role of the oldest daughter in the towheaded trio in The Brady Bunch. The show featured Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a brand new family. The run of five years for The Brady Bunch was an enormous success. McCormick's memoir Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in the year 2008. The book revealed the fact that McCormick nearly lost her virginity while on stage of the show during its fifth season to Barry Williams.
