Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox took classes in piano, flute and harpsichord at the Royal Academy of Music London for three years during the 1970s. Her budget was supplemented by a stipend for students and part-time work. When she was at the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied with her skill in comparison to her fellow students and contemplated a possible alternative path she might follow. Lennox became part of the group Dragons Playground as the flute player in the year 1976. She quit the band before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent competition. From 1977 until 1980 she served as the main vocalist of The Tourists, a British Pop group. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later join Eurythmics. Lennox collaborated on her solo debut record Diva. The album was released in 1993. The album garnered a lot of praise both from critics and the public. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album debuted in the month of October 2014. The C.D. Lennox compiled her top blues and soul from childhood. Lepidoptera is a compilation of four piano improvisations, was released by Lennox in May of 2019. The E.P. The album is a companion to her Now I let it go... artwork which was on display at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. The album is her first independent album.
